RSS Joint General Secretary Says Homosexuality Isn’t A Crime, Now Seem To Have Taken A U-Turn

In what we call a stand against their conservative ideologies, RSS Joint General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale in a significant statement yesterday at the India Today conclave said, “I don’t think homosexuality should be considered a criminal offence as long as it does not affect the lives of others in society.”

“Why should RSS have an opinion on homosexuality? It is not a crime as long as it does not affect the lives of others. Sexual preferences are personal issues. Personal preference of sex is not discussed in RSS and we don’t even want to discuss that,” he said speaking on the first day of the event.

Section 377 terms homosexuality unnatural & a criminal offence which can attract a punishment of ten years in Jail.

However, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley recently called for its decriminalization and Supreme Court also agreed to relook at their verdict on Section 377 last month.

This statement by RSS Joint General Secretary was well lauded until he cleared his stand completely by tweeting this.

Followed by his second tweet a couple of minutes later.

From a criminal offence to a psychological case. Quite a confusing stand!
